"Another very good dock for cruise ships passing the Mexican coast. This extended dock can handle two ships of decent size and only requires a short walk to the port area where the catamarans and other further away tours depart. the port itself has a little village with convenience stores and tourist souvenir stores, as well as a nearby chapel. You can get pretty much anything you need right by the dock and pier area. This was the first I ever made in Mexico where a gunboat escorted us into the harbor (Protection from pirates?) and where guards on the docks were armed with submachine guns. Our cruise staff it was to make us feel safe, but since we are not paranoid Americans, we have never found a need to be overly nervous of Mexican sea side resorts. :) Everyone was very pleasant and capable. Passport control was a breeze. Nice views of the area, nearby playa's and resorts being built form the pier and cruise ship."
