Reviews Summary

San Miguel Beach is praised for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful rocky coastline, and spectacular sunrises, making it a favorite for surfers and those seeking a quiet escape. While the entry fee is modest and the burrito shack convenient, some visitors note the rough access road and potential tight spots for larger vehicles. Reddit+1

"Peaceful beach with great view. Cost $5 to enter but worth it. Chill burrito shack selling coffee and stuff"

Jeremy Geiger

"Basic beach front dry camping. Mostly used by surfers. Surf break right off the camp area. Entry road was rough pavement-- I think intentionally so to keep speeds down. Exiting the camp was a bit tight in out 28 foot class A as we had to go around some buildings to get out to the highway, it was a little tight in our rig and one point there was a sharp downward drop and I was a bit concerned about clearance for our waste dump pipes, but no scrapes for us, rigs longer than 30ft might have trouble.

$12 usd or 210 pesos"

Randy Oakley

"I have been coming to this beach since I was turned onto it 40+ years ago. Estero beach was my first love but it's changed dramatically. V.S.M. is much the same except that there are houses where trailers were the norm and the pier is gone. Still have a house there and spend about 25% of my time unplugged in Mexico."

Camping and Access

San Miguel Beach provides basic beachfront dry camping, a feature that has long appealed to surfers and those seeking a more rustic experience. This allows visitors to stay close to the waves and enjoy the natural surroundings. However, it's important to be aware of the access road conditions. Reddit

The road leading to the beach is described as rough pavement, and while it helps manage speeds, it can be challenging for larger vehicles. Some campers have noted that exiting in rigs longer than 30 feet might involve tight maneuvers around buildings, and there's a concern about clearance for waste dump pipes due to a sharp downward drop. Reddit Planning your vehicle size and driving carefully is key if you intend to camp or drive a larger vehicle to the beach.

Despite these access considerations, the $5 USD (or 210 pesos) entry fee is generally considered a small price to pay for the privilege of camping and enjoying this beautiful coastal location. Reddit The peaceful atmosphere and stunning views make it a worthwhile stop for many visitors. Reddit
