"I truly had the time of my life at Impressions Isla Mujeres by Secrets. Every single corner of this resort is absolutely stunning—breathtaking views, beautiful décor, and an overall feeling of luxury everywhere you look.

This stay was especially meaningful because we got engaged here. My fiancé hired Dream Art photographers, who are part of the resort, and our photographer Mare captured every single moment perfectly. We received our photos the very next day, which allowed us to share them immediately with our friends and family—something we will cherish forever.

Our hotel rooms were incredible. The first room was spacious with a gorgeous oceanfront view and a large jacuzzi tub outside. One night there was a storm, and unfortunately our room flooded. However, the service in response was nothing short of unbelievable. We informed the front desk and our butlers, and within less than an hour of waking up, we were upgraded to a Paramount Suite with absolutely no hassle. They handled everything so seamlessly that I completely forgot about the incident for the rest of the trip. Seeing the Paramount Suite honestly left my jaw on the floor.

Another highlight is the endless amount of activities available. Whether you want to relax by the beach or pool with a drink in hand, or participate in a full schedule of curated activities, there is something for everyone. Your personal butler helps schedule all activities and dining reservations via WhatsApp and is always reachable. Our butlers, Alexander and Zelma, were outstanding. Every time they saw us around the resort, they stopped to check on us and make sure we were okay. Zelma even decorated my bed for my birthday as a surprise with my fiancé—it was such a thoughtful and special touch.

The entertainment staff, especially Frankie and April, were incredibly kind and welcoming. The scuba instructor was amazing and so patient with me during my very first scuba diving experience. And truly, every waiter, server, and bartender was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so well cared for.

I cannot recommend this resort highly enough. From the service to the atmosphere, I felt like I was living in luxury every single moment. This trip gave me memories I will cherish forever, and I cannot wait to return."

"Our overall experience at this hotel has been extremely disappointing, primarily due to the inconsistent enforcement of the dress code, serious hygiene issues in the guest room, lack of professionalism from management, and an overall absence of good-faith efforts to resolve the problems.

First, while dining at one of the hotel’s restaurants, we were asked to return to our room to change our footwear on the grounds that our shoes did not comply with the dress code. However, at the same time and in the same restaurant, multiple other guests were clearly wearing slippers or similar footwear and were not asked to change. This selective enforcement strongly suggests that the dress code was not applied equally or consistently, but instead enforced in a subjective and discriminatory manner.

Second, we discovered visible blood stains on the bed sheets. This was both shocking and unacceptable, and represents a serious failure to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness. It is difficult to believe that a hotel charging approximately USD 1,600 per night would allow such a hygiene issue to occur.

The hotel later offered a complimentary sunset cruise tour as compensation, but only on the condition that we sign a liability waiver. The terms of this agreement were entirely unreasonable, stating that we would waive all rights to hold the hotel responsible for any incidents occurring during our stay, including serious injury or even death. Given that we were expected to continue staying at the hotel for several more days, signing such a document was clearly unacceptable.

Most concerning of all, rather than addressing the issues from the guest’s perspective, the hotel appeared focused on avoiding liability. Throughout the entire process, it felt that the hotel was more interested in deflecting responsibility than in genuinely resolving the problems.

In summary, the hotel’s service quality, management practices, and respect for guests fall far below what would reasonably be expected of a property at this price point and branding level."

"This is where I chose to propose to my now-fiancee and I couldn't be happier!

From the moment we stepped onto the luxury catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Impressions Isla Mujeres was genuinely one of the most incredible hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

Room

We initially booked the Signature Ocean Front Suite (used points for standard junior suite and then bid on a room upgrade—totally worth it!). As someone who has never stayed in a true luxury hotel, this room made my jaw drop. We were thrilled. But unfortunately the first night we were there, there was a huge storm and we woke up to flooding in our room.

However, this is where the hotel truly shined. They were on it immediately and moved us to the Paramount Oceanview Suite. It was absolutely huge, felt like true, unadulterated luxury, and honestly, the hotel’s quick and generous response completely smoothed over the initial stress. The flooding wasn't great, but as a customer, I am easily bought, and this turned a negative to an absolute positive for me.

Aesthetics and Vibes

The entire vibe of the resort is next level. Every single inch of the property feels thoughtfully designed and perfectly on-brand. You could literally snap a photo anywhere and it would look like it was pulled straight from a magazine. The lobby pool and the rooftop pools are especially picturesque as they look out at a completely clear view of the ocean and the Cancun skyline and the sunset.

Food

I'm not the most seasoned all-inclusive traveler, but the food here blew me away.

Breakfast: We loved starting our day at Unik which was wait service. We ordered everything off the menu during our stay and were particularly impressed with their sweet options: the French toast, the oat cream brûlée, and the pancakes. The savory options were great too, including the chilaquiles, benimoles, omelets, etc.

Dinner Standouts: Spezia and Sake were our top two dinner spots—absolutely fantastic and memorable. Really enjoyed the Burrata and the Cacio e Pepe at Spezia and we enjoyed all the sushi at Sake, specifically the Naji Maki. We did not get to try the teppanyaki at Sake. Like the rest of the hotel, the design for each restaurant was amazing, whether it was the ocean front views or the decor, you felt like you were eating a fine dining restaurant. The only downside I think maybe we had, was that in general the desserts didn't blow us away. I think my favorite was the lemon meringue from Spezia.

Other food: there is a coffee shop open 24/7 where you could get whatever coffee you wanted. The service could be a tiny bit slow, but the selection of snacks and food was great. They had ice cream as well and they would make you smoothies. Unik and Spezia were open some days for lunch, otherwise you could do room service or there is Mercado, which you can order from anywhere (beach or pool) and someone will bring it to you.

The People Make the Place

The service felt like we were living in our own episode of The White Lotus—attentive, personalized, and truly exceptional.

A massive shout-out to our two butlers, Alexander and Zelma. They were both so kind and helpful. Zelma even set up a beautiful surprise display on our bed for my fiancée’s birthday! It was such a special touch.

Frankie & April: They managed many of our activities and made everything fun and seamless. We loved all the different activities available (snorkeling, kayaking, art workshops, cocktail classes, wine tastings, bike tour)

Arnulfo: Who took us out for an amazing scuba diving excursion. We were complete beginners and he was so patient and helpful.

Johan: Who led a fantastic and engaging mixology class

The resort has four beautiful pools and a lovely private beach area. The only tiny thing was the water slide was broken during our stay, but honestly, with everything else being so incredible, we barely missed it.

In summary, this was the best trip I've ever been on. I can't tell you if this is worth the cash price, but this was 100% worth using credit card points for."
