Reviews Summary

Xaman-Ha Aviary is a small but charming sanctuary offering close encounters with tropical birds like macaws and flamingos. Visitors appreciate the natural setting and the opportunity to support conservation efforts, though some find the entry fee a bit high for the size. The natural paths can be uneven, and occasional renovations may impact accessibility.

"This small aviary does have a natural cenote with a variety of birds (see photos). It is $15 USD per person, which supports the aviary, but might seem excessive compared to other zoos or places you may have been. Go if you would like to have a short walk in the Yucatecan jungle and see some unique birds up close…or if you want to support their mission (which we did want to do). Beautiful stone walkways and steps are solidly-constructed but not accessible for those who have walking challenges. The older (but relatively fit) people in our group were able to walk throughout the aviary without assistance. There is a Mayan ruin nearby that could also be visited in the same morning or afternoon. We stayed in the aviary for about 45 minutes, but a large section is being renovated right now and was not open to the public."

Kimberley Kreicker

"Good little adventure if you are nearby. On the smaller side for the price, however being a bird lover it was a fun experience. Some parts were a bit stinky.

I saw macaws, flamingos, iguanas, pelican, coati, agouti. Sadly did not see toucans as others have said."

Signor Croach

"It’s a small aviary and a little bit expensive (300 pesos) but they had a flock and beautiful macaws, some Amazonian parrots and flamingoes. Also there were Amazon ducks and a bunch of Agouti running around,"
