Reviews Summary

Calle 47 is a beautifully renovated colonial street in Merida, praised for its diverse culinary scene, charming architecture, and vibrant atmosphere, especially in the evenings. While many visitors enjoy the excellent service and quality of food, some have noted a perceived lack of genuine local warmth, feeling it can be more tourist-oriented and less friendly than other parts of the city.

"Que padre! I really appreciate walking out during daytime and evening to this place since I was staying in one of the boutique hotels nearby. It’s definitely a tourist catered environment with few local non-gentrified businesses in between. I’ve received excellent service in all visited locations especially Catrin and Boba ice cream parlor and can’t wait to explore more and more. The neighborhood doesn’t have the genuine friendliness and gentleness of the Yucatecos. The business owners are doing a good job preserving the niceness of the region however it’s hard not to notice some level of classism and separation. It’s a big turn off. I didn’t come here to experience aloofness, it feels like California 2.0. It’s the only place in town where people in general avoid eye contact, muy antipaticos. Exclusion is not a flex in any society. Mexicans in general are much better than this. As far as food, dishes, drinks, safety, creative displays is a great addition to this town. As far as people, new residents and overall visitors it’s quite disheartening and cold."

DejaAlex

"We walked to the Parque La Plancha in the evening and then stopped at Olivo. Our waiter ( Eduardo) was personable and very attentive and what we ordered was delicious and reasonable."

Dorothea Ragsdale

"Great choice of restaurants and cafés. We found a jewelry called Coco Café where they make amazing sandwiches and pastries. For a more refined meal, 130 Grados serves amazing meat."
