Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Península de Juluapan for its beautiful, clean lagoon that's perfect for families and swimming. The clear waters and abundant fish are a major highlight. However, many express disappointment with litter left by some visitors, urging others to be more responsible.

"It's a very beautiful, clean place with lots of fish. It's a good place for children to learn to swim because it's shallow. On the ocean side of the bridge, the depth increases, and in the morning, you should be careful because boats and jet skis sail by at full speed. You can see several species of fish and walk across at the bridge. Closer to the ocean, there's a whirlpool, so be careful if you don't know how to swim; it's best to cross near the bridge."

Xiatil

"Super calm lagoon, crystal-clear water. I recommend wearing goggles or a snorkel to swim and see the fish. Ideal for going with small children! The water is shallow and calm, and the staff at the Tita beach are super friendly! I will definitely return.

Note: I went on a Tuesday and it was super calm.

PLEASE DON'T LITTER, PUT IT IN ITS PLACE... When you're swimming in the lagoon, you'll find cans, disposable cups, and beer bottle caps."

DJ Explow

"You can enjoy with your family after 5 in the afternoon because the sun is no longer burning you, and you can stay until almost 8 there is still natural light and the beach with few people fishing, crystal clear water, shallow depth for the little ones, without waves,"

Understanding the Lagoon and Ocean Sides

Península de Juluapan offers two distinct experiences: the calm, shallow lagoon and the more dynamic ocean side. The lagoon is a haven for families, with its crystal-clear, tranquil waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. It's shallow enough for children to play safely, and the abundance of fish makes it an underwater delight. Reddit

The ocean side, however, presents a different character. Here, you'll find the impressive Cueva Bufadora, a natural blowhole that erupts with water. This area can have stronger currents and is where boats and jet skis are more active, especially in the mornings. Visitors are advised to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings, particularly if they are not strong swimmers. Instagram+1

Navigating between these two environments is key to enjoying the peninsula. While the lagoon offers relaxation and safety, the ocean side provides a more adventurous and visually striking experience. Always prioritize safety and respect the natural conditions of each area. Reddit

The lagoon is particularly known for its numerous fish species, making it an excellent spot for snorkeling. Visitors often report seeing a variety of colorful fish just by wading in the shallows.
