That would be Deer Island (Isla De Los Venados) ✌️ Although this place can get busy with tourists, the crystal clear blue waters that surround it and different perspective of Mazatlan make it 110% worth the treck! We hopped on a water taxi on the beach right across from the island for just 250 pesos ($12 USD/$20 CAD) a person return and went relatively early to scoop up a decent spot on the bea...

Reviews Summary

Isla de Venados is praised for its beautiful, calm, and clear waters, offering a relaxing escape with breathtaking city views. Visitors appreciate it as a family-friendly spot and a great place for swimming and observing marine life. However, the lack of facilities, particularly restrooms, and the need to bring all provisions are recurring points of consideration.

"Nice calm waters, chill place to relax and enjoy the water"

Luis De La Vega

"Boats can be taken from Gaviotas Beach. It's recommended to bring food and drinks because nothing is sold there, and don't forget to bring a trash bag. The water is crystal-clear, with beautiful scenery, and you can see plenty of fish. It's the perfect place to spend an unforgettable day. The view of the city from the island is breathtaking."

Rosario Ortiza

"Getting to the island cost us 150 per person, they leave from Playa Gaviotas and you go by boat. The people are very friendly.
I recommend arriving at 9:30 or 10 to enjoy the island before it fills with people. You should also bring drinks, snacks, and a bag to bring back your trash.
Those who took us to the island rented us a table and chairs. The sea was very calm and clean when we arrived, the later it got the sea started to look dirty, we suppose because of the sunscreens and so many people on the beach.
On the shore we saw some bad water and a puffer fish. You have to be careful with animals. It is highly recommended to bring sea shoes because there are many stones.
What we didn't like is that there is NO bathroom. There is one but it is private to the CID hotel and they do not let anyone enter who is not staying there.
The view is beautiful and the sea is very calm."
