"Yum Balam is an ecological reserve on Holbox Island, very close to the town. We cycled around the puddles in the streets—which aren't regularly maintained—but getting there isn't difficult or unsafe. However, bring plenty of insect repellent. Walking takes about 30 minutes, and it's easier to navigate the puddles.
