The staff is frequently described as friendly and helpful, with prompt delivery of photos and videos. However, some past reviews mention concerns about water clarity and smell, as well as high parking fees.

"I can tell these reviews are from years ago because they are not an accurate representation of this facility. Everyone was transparent about costs, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we got our pictures/videos within 24hrs as promised. Atvs were super fun, lasted about 45 minutes. Cenote was beautiful, warm, had no pungent smell as previously said, and our guide Luis was so kind and patient with us."

Christina Cruz

"The worst place. The water is green and smells really bad."

Nikolay Nikolov

"We had a great excursion there! It is about 4 or 5 mi in off of the beaten path. It's worth the bumpy ride though! Our guide was awesome! I wish I could remember his name. (I do know he spent several years living in Miami though).
The four wheelers were fun, zip lining over, then into the water was wild. Although I was not brave enough to jump off of the 25 ft high platform lovingly nicknamed the "Mayan Sacrifice! " It was an Awesome Day!"

The Unique Geology of Cenotes

Cenotes are natural pit or sinkhole resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. The Yucatan Peninsula, where Cenote Las Mojarras is located, is particularly rich in these geological formations due to its porous limestone base and the absence of surface rivers. These underground rivers and caves were formed over millennia, and their collapse created the stunning cenotes we see today. TikTok

The water in cenotes is typically very clear and fresh, filtered naturally through the limestone. This clarity is what makes them ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The unique lighting conditions, with sunlight filtering through openings in the earth, create an almost ethereal atmosphere, especially in open-air cenotes like Las Mojarras. TikTokInstagram

Historically, cenotes held significant importance for the Mayan civilization, serving as vital sources of fresh water and often considered sacred sites. Archaeological discoveries in and around cenotes have revealed artifacts and even human remains, highlighting their role in ancient Mayan culture and rituals. TikTok
