What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This street food alley offers a vibrant culinary experience with a wide array of authentic Mexican dishes. While many praise the delicious flavors and lively atmosphere, some visitors caution about potentially steep prices and the importance of confirming costs upfront to avoid discrepancies.
"During my stay at the hotel zone, every single dinner was eaten at one of the street stalls in this alley.
I have to mention that the prices here are definitely very steep for Mexican street food standards, especially since the Hotel Zone is an extremely touristy area. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for authentic Mexican street food in the area, this slightly hidden alley directly across Senor Frogs will surprise you with a line of street stalls right in the smack of all the high end restaurants and bars.
In terms of taste, every single meal here deserves a 5/5, which includes the mushroom quesadilla, veggie enchiladas and shrimp tortas and they were each bought from 3 different stalls. However, it’s a pity that the prices here are very steep or I’d have given a 5/5 review."

"We ended up at this gem after working our way from a street peddler. So happy we did, I've read a few of the reviews about prices, but I thought it was priced great. They gave us a menu that listed all the prices. We got 4 tacos, a beer, a large pineapple drink, some chips with sauces, rice, beans and then made us a bowl of fresh pico-de-gallo from scratch. All of that was $23usd. You can't go wrong with that. The foodnwas excellent! Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. It is basically an ally with about 5-6 little foos vendors. If you go in by Fat Tuesday, we ate with the second to last booth. Had a great guy wait on us with a few ladies helping out. Its nothing fancy, just a beat-up old ally. When we showed up, there were nothing but locals eating, which I saw as a good sign. Would eat here everyday if I could!"

"I would put zero stars if I could. DONT GO THERE!!! Scammers. They told me 120 pesos for 3 tacos which is fine because the other restaurants they sell 3 tacos for around 130 pesos. After we are done eating they charged me 120 pesos PER TACOS. He said noooo it’s the price PER tacos. After we argue with him, he said… ok 120 pesos for 2 tacos. WHY YOU ARE NEGOTIATING NOW?!
So we asked the police to come. And the police didn’t even listen to us and he forced us to pay. This is very unfair. They are liars. The police work with them. It’s a trap. They lie to you so you eat and then force you to pay the prize he decides.
Btw: The bill he pulled up was 980 pesos. And we were supposed to pay 320 pesos. Look at the huge difference… Even fancy restaurants don’t have those prices.
Not to mention the food had ZERO taste. It was awful but I didn’t tell the restaurant that."
