"Great island to visit by boat!
Only by boat you can enter that beautiful island with crystal clear water, sandy beaches and a great view to Mauritius main island. There are some small shops with tourist items, food and drinks directly at the beach. You also find places in the shade for a picknick or a rest. Not that far you see the famous Crystal rock as well."
Michael Fuerst
"Île aux Benitiers was really cool – clear water, perfect for snorkeling, and we saw lots of fish. Also happy to see not much trash around. Great spot overall!"

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider booking a tour that offers a BBQ lunch, as the relaxed atmosphere and delicious food are usually a hit with younger travelers. The short boat ride is also usually exciting for children. Remember to pack plenty of sun protection, as the tropical sun can be strong.
💰 Budget Travelers
Compare prices from different operators in Flic en Flac or Tamarin. Sometimes, booking directly with smaller boat owners on the beach can yield better deals, but ensure they are reputable. Exploring the Lagoon: Kayaking and Swimming
When planning your aquatic adventures, remember that the lagoon is quite shallow, especially at low tide. This makes it incredibly safe for families and less experienced swimmers. However, it also means that snorkeling might be less rewarding compared to deeper reef areas. The focus here is more on enjoying the serene beauty and the gentle embrace of the turquoise waters. Always be mindful of the sun and stay hydrated, as the tropical sun can be intense even when you're in the water.
The Iconic Crystal Rock
Depending on the tide, you might be able to get quite close to the Crystal Rock. Some tours even allow you to disembark briefly near it for photos. The contrast between the weathered rock and the pristine, calm waters surrounding it is what makes it so visually appealing. It’s a natural landmark that embodies the idyllic charm of Mauritius, offering a moment of awe and a fantastic photo opportunity for every visitor.
