What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the spectacular and impressive views of 500 Pieds Waterfall, calling it one of the best in Mauritius. However, many highlight the hike's significant difficulty, noting it's steep, rocky, and extremely slippery, especially after rain, making it unsuitable for children or those seeking an easy walk.
"Very cool to get to the top of this waterfall.
We went with our 3yo daughter and the way down was very tough and slippery.
In normal condition it is probably a 45m hike in both directions with 150m elevation drop on a moderate difficulty trail.
It can be very muddy and slippery."

"Beautiful trail but very, very challenging terrain especially after rain - the trail is very steep, rocky and or muddy at certain areas. For one of the descends (leading to a crossing across the river) I'd even reccomend bringing a rope just in case. It drops down about 5 meters almost vertically with only minimal steps carved into the mud.
Nonetheless - the view is spectacular"

"Nice hike. Difficult but worth it. One of the best waterfall in Mauritius."
