I visited Pulau Timba-Timba with high hopes, expecting a beautiful, remote island with crystal-clear water and soft white sand. And in theory, it could be just that – the natural setting is truly stunning.
But unfortunately, the reality is devastating. Trash is everywhere – on the beach, in the water, tangled in the trees. Plastic bottles, food wrappers, fishing nets… It was honestly painful to see such a place in this condition.
What could be a paradise feels more like a dumping ground. It wasn’t the relaxing or inspiring experience I had hoped for – instead, it left me sad and frustrated.
This island has so much potential, and I sincerely hope something will be done to protect and clean it. It truly deserves better."
