What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Kanching Rainforest Waterfall for its beautiful multi-tiered cascades and refreshing swimming pond, offering a great natural escape. While the journey via public transport can be a bit involved, the serene environment and opportunity to connect with nature make it a worthwhile destination for a day trip from Kuala Lumpur.
"Refreshing nature escape with beautiful waterfalls and forest trails
Taman Eko Rimba Kanching is a wonderful spot for nature lovers looking to escape the city without going too far. The place is well-known for its multi-tiered waterfalls, and they truly did not disappoint. The cascading falls are stunning, and the water is refreshingly cool – perfect for a quick dip or just relaxing by the rocks.
There are paved and stepped trails leading up to the higher levels of the waterfall, offering a good workout for hikers. The forest is lush and peaceful, filled with the sounds of running water. Plenty of shaded areas along the way made the hike enjoyable even in warm weather.
At the lower area, there's a picnic and camping zone, with open green spaces perfect for families or groups. You’ll also find small stalls selling drinks and snacks, though bringing your own food is recommended.
⚠️ Do note: the climb can get steep past level 2, so proper footwear is a must. Also, be cautious of monkeys near the picnic spots – they can get cheeky if they see food!
Overall, a great place to spend half a day immersed in nature, whether you’re up for a hike or just want to cool off in the waterfalls."

"Taman Eko Rimba Kanching is a refreshing place with clean waterfalls and relaxing nature vibes. Entrance and parking charges apply, but worth for the experience. Toilets need proper maintenance, and visitors should be careful as monkeys might take things. Better to bring your own food and drinks. Overall, a nice spot if managed well."

"Fascinating place to explore for half a day, but best to come on weekdays as it looks like a theme park on weekends. There's several waterfalls located along the main trail up, and after the 1st waterfall, the trail becomes very steep. So, those with health or stamina issues, please be cautious. Camping is available, not Vamping. There's facilities like toilets, local restaurant, drinks and souvenir shops. I came here for mushroom & fungi hunting, which is a pretty good location.
And watch out for the monkeys, if you bring food, they will try to snatch it from you, so please put it inside your bag. Bring a trekking stick if you are scared of monkeys. Walk on the steps path, as the other one can be slippery. Enjoy & be safe."
