What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Gunung Pulai for its accessible waterfall and refreshing swimming opportunities, with many enjoying the scenic paved walk. The unique treehouse cafe is a highlight for its ambiance and offerings. However, strict rules against disposable packaging can be a point of contention for some.
"It was a easy 20min uphill walk (mostly tar road surface) to the waterfall. We went on a Friday morning 9am so it was very quiet. More people came after 10.30am but it was still not too crowded.
The temperature of the rainforest was cooling and we almost did not feel the high humidity.
We had brought food for a picnic by the waterfall but we were told at the park entrance that all food and drink in disposable packaging are prohibited inside the park. We managed to bring in our water which was contained in our own water bottles. I think this is a great initiative to keep the park clean and tidy.
The next time we come, we will pack our picnic items in our own home containers and enjoy a relaxing picnic by the waterfall."

"Entry: RM1
Parking: RM0-3, depends on the location.
Level: Moderate. Really good for leg and lung exercise for stamina. The roads are really steep so make sure to bring water and have enough rest before the hike.
Reminder: Bring water inside tumbler. Bring food inside tupperware. No drink and food inside plastic are allowed, guards will check and ask to leave it at their post, like Spritzer/Cactus mineral water bottle.
Got 1 road for a waterfall (15 minutes walk) and 2 road for hiking.
1 hiking road free, but paved road. Jalan tar.
1 hiking road needs a permit from the Pejabat Hutan Daerah Johor Selatan or Pejabat Renjer Hutan Kulai."

"Paved walk up the road surface.
The incline walk up can be as steep as 50 degrees.
I would say it’s a beginner’s walk.
You can park below for RM3, sign in at entrance and walk up all the way on the pavement. The waterfall and picnic area is just nearby at there is no need to climb up all the way."
