Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate Istana Maziah for its unique architecture and scenic gardens, offering a pleasant spot for photos and relaxation. While interior access is limited, the exterior beauty and surrounding area provide a worthwhile experience. Some visitors noted a preference for more traditional Malay design over the colonial influences.

"You cannot enter this palace. However, you can stroll around the area and enjoy the palace scenery. There's a garden outside the palace that you can walk around and sit to enjoy the view."

Miss Fadillah

"I hope the security has increased at this place since my wife and I walked in the back door 20 years ago. Not challenged at the gate, just walked in, thought it was a museum or gallery . We didn't know what it was, all we saw was there was a big festival going on, big banquet set up outside.

Personal security increased as we walked further into the building. Had it started to look like a house .

I engaged with one armed individual and asked " I'm not supposed to be here am I? Is it okay if we just left?" Dude looks scared as hell and said yes.

We went out the back, walked around the front, and a huge motorcade with heavy security past us.

Unintentional use of white card."

Kelly P

"Dissapointed for the westerners architecture. Should've build Malay style architecture. King and Sultan in a colonised country around the world were mostly blinded by wealth amd extravagant life except Japan in 1800s"
