"My husband and I stayed five nights at the Blue Mansion purely as we wanted to enjoy the cultural experience.
As one would expect, the rooms are not 5 star, but comfortable. Ours had access to a rear courtyard where one could sit and relax watching the fish in the large fish pond or enjoy a swim in the nearby swimming pool.
The shortcomings are a lack of places to enjoy a light lunch or a snack in a relaxed environment. The Indigo Restaurant (semi formal) is open for dinner and accessed by a stair case (there are no lifts) and cafe Mangga situated near the entry to the car park open for lunch and dinner has an 'OK' menu, nothing outstanding.
There is entertainment on the stage in the outdoor seating area.
The hotel Bar does not provide any complimentary peanuts or crisps to enjoy with a drink.
The gift shop has a basic selection of local items and books. It's not very inspiring.
The staff overall were polite and helpful. 'Javeed' serving breakfast was outstanding, and Penny at Mangga also very attentive and helpful, especially with dietary assistance.
I have Coeliac Disease and GF bread was provided for breakfast. There is no separate toaster so bring your own BYO 'toastie' bags.
Overall we were happy with our stay, but five nights just a little too long."
