Reviews Summary

Nosy Komba is praised for its abundant wildlife, particularly the friendly lemurs and chameleons, and its serene, car-free beaches. However, some visitors find the island overly commercialized, likening it to a zoo and noting a strong focus on souvenir sales and requests for money from locals.

"[ Nosy KOMBA ].
Lemurs [ to feed ], snakes [ non poisonous, except the females ]; according to the GUIDE, lol.
A tortoise, [ can eat 5 kilos a day, just like my ex wife ].
Chameleons, SMALL turtles that can camouflage as stones and kill crocodiles, eating them from the inside out , with their sharp claws .
Clean , well organised trips !"

TERENCE J SIMMONS

"Disappointing! It’s like a zoo. Like one of each animal is prepared there for the tourists to take pictures of them. The rest of the time on the island was just souvenir shopping. People see nothing but money in white people…it’s very sad. I looked into the school classroom and 2 children were showing to give them money. Very bad what you teach your children and the true kindles of Malagasy people is completely gone in this part of Madagascar, including Nosy Be."

Evi Buzasi

"Nosy Ambwriovato or Nosy Komba is one of the bigger islands surrounding Nosy Be. We had fun interacting with the lemurs, but would recommend arriving early in the day as they are no longer hungry after the larger tourist crowds have passed.
The town is vibrant and full of entrepreneurial spirit. We enjoyed lunches and people watching at the local restaurants. The locals are friendly and accommodating.
Bring cash, there lots of beautiful things to buy, but no ATM facilities. A wonderful holiday!"
