"*visited on 10/12/2025: Silk Roads beyond Borders
As someone who likes historical exhibitions, this Museum visit was one of the highlights of our trip. My boyfriend & I spent the most time in the ceramics section: the wares and porcelain were so beautiful! It was also interesting to learn how different cultures influenced the artisanal craft.
We appreciate the interactive panels that explains more details about the item on display.
I was a bit disappointed in the instrument section though. The descriptive text is put on the floor whereas the item is put way up. Did they expect visitors to crouch/squat down to read the tiny text?
Either way, entry is free and it is an excellent themed exhibition. Would recommend anyone to stop by and have a look if they have time to spare."

"It’s not really a “museum” but rather a special historic exhibition focusing on the Silk Road theme. Located within MGM Macau and it’s free admission even you need to obtain an entrance ticket but the ticket is actually free and can be obtained just at the entrance. No food, liquid or umbrella allowed inside so you will have to put it at the temporary storage area provided before the entrance. Inside the exhibition you can feel the grand fusion between ancient and technology."

"I recently visited the POLY MGM MUSEUM and was captivated by the incredible collection on display. The highlight was the 4 Bronze Zodiac Heads from the Old Summer Palace, crafted during Emperor Qianlong’s reign. Seeing them up close was awe-inspiring—the intricate details, from the textures to the folds and fur, were breathtaking. The immersive LED screens added a magical touch, transporting me back to the grandeur of the Qing Dynasty.
The exhibition, “The Maritime Silk Road - Discover the Mystical Seas and Encounter the Treasures of the Ancient Trade Route,”featured 15 sets of grade-one cultural relics and 228 exquisite artifacts. Each piece told a story of cultural exchange and historical significance, making me feel deeply connected to China’s rich heritage.
The experience was completely free! The museum’s modern design and interactive displays made the visit both educational and engaging. If you’re in Macau, don’t miss this chance to explore these national treasures."
