#lithuania #vilnius #craft #folkart #folkcreative #nationalmuseum #nationalmuseum

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the National Museum of Lithuania for its extensive collection and excellent value for money, offering a deep dive into Lithuanian history. While some find older exhibits a bit simple, the national costumes and 20th-century items are highlights. Inconsistent opening hours are a noted drawback.

"A trip to the history of Lithuania) It is the main and biggest history museum in the country. You need several hours to explore the exhibitions because there are many interesting exhibits, installations and paintings. There is a large collection of portraits. Some exhibitions look too simple and boring, especially when you're exploring the halls devoted to the old times and traditional Lithuanian culture. I would like to see more interaction here. However, the main thing is that there's a nice collection of national costumes and everyday items of the 20th century, including WW2. The museum has good prices and inadequate opening hours. It would be better to close the museum in the late evening. But still, it is worth a visit."

Iryna Lebid

"I think this museum has the best value for money in Vilnius if you are thinking in terms of artifacts.

There's a broad range of artifacts here that tell a story of the history of Lithuania up until the early 1900s which is particularly interesting.

It was only £5 per adult to enter and I believe it's free with the Vilnius card."

Connor Butler

"Why is the museum closed during holidays and nobody in other branches know anything about it? It's not very smart to close a national museum for the summer. That's a pity, I really wanted to see the paintings during my visit."
