What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Lithuanian Zoo for its significant post-renovation improvements, highlighting spacious and naturalistic animal enclosures, and immersive exhibits like the exotarium and free-roaming bird aviary. The zoo is seen as a great value with friendly staff, though occasional missing information boards and parking challenges are noted.
"Visited a couple times - the space was always clean, not too crowded. The zoo is pretty big, has lots of different animal species. There were a couple places where the information board was missing - that might be the only downside of my visits. Overall great experience, I especially enjoyed the inside exposition of different zones - reptiles, rodents, birds and etc. Birds zone was especially fun, because some birds were flying freely around the space, rather than being in cages."

"Very nice zoo with plenty to see. Most of the animals we managed to see on the day, beautiful birds, lizards and fish. Everything looked brand new. And also there is enough chairs to sit down, cafe and toilets are available too. Tickets €15. Some of the places you can see the animals and birds just around you without any borders which was amazing immersive experience."

"An absolutely lovely zoo! The animals look very nicely cared for and they have beautiful big enclosures. The central pavilion with terraria, aquaria and tropical animals also has a great design. :) It is noticeable that some things are still undergoing reconstruction and the zoo is doing its best to improve any shortcomings or older enclosures which is definitely a plus in my book. We'll visit again when we're in Lithuania. :)"

Similarly, the exotarium offers an incredibly close-up view of reptiles, amphibians, and fish within meticulously designed terrariums and aquariums. This proximity allows for detailed observation of their behaviors and features, making the experience highly engaging.
This approach to animal viewing not only enhances the visitor's connection with nature but also reflects a modern understanding of zoo design, focusing on creating environments that are both educational and awe-inspiring. The zoo's efforts to break down barriers between visitors and animals are a key reason for its positive reception.
