Reviews Summary
Beirut Airport presents a contrast between its vibrant duty-free offerings and its aging infrastructure. While staff are generally praised for their helpfulness and security procedures are efficient, long queues and a lack of modern facilities are common complaints. The airport is functional but in need of significant upgrades to match the hospitality of Lebanon.
"Another “typical” Lebanon thing, chaotic from the inside, but Superficial from the outside!! Instead of focusing on the old infrastructure in order to improve the endless queues, especially at the immigration , the focus is on shining the glamorous duty-free!! An airport that had no transit flights and still needs a lot of real improvements. But hey… who cares as long as the duty free offer high end brands 😉"

"Check in and security lines can get long during peak times… make sure you arrive two hours in advance.
Plenty of duty free shops available, prices are very good.
Better dining options now, it’s getting better…
Lounges are comfortable, recommended if you have time.
Enjoy your flight."

"Unfortunately, the airport is quite old and lacks modern facilities. There are very limited restaurants and shops available, which is disappointing for a city as beautiful and vibrant as Beirut, and a country as rich in culture as Lebanon. The floors, walls, and overall infrastructure are outdated and definitely in need of urgent renovation or even a complete rebuild.
On a positive note, the airport procedures were smooth. Security and bag checks were fast and not overly strict, which I appreciated. Most of the officers had a good attitude and were professional.
The duty free section was good and offered a decent variety of products, which was a pleasant surprise. However, be prepared for very long queues. The lines were extremely long, and this made the experience a bit stressful, especially if you’re short on time.
One negative experience I had was with a staff member at the check in counter. I was traveling with a friend, and although we arrived very early, she gave us seats far apart. It felt intentional, and she didn’t seem to have a welcoming attitude.
In summary, the airport has potential, but it really needs modernization, better crowd management, and improved customer service to match the beauty and hospitality of Lebanon."
