If you visited an old museum in any ex-Soviet country and you noticed only couple of old aunties running the place, now that's what I would call a museum. Frunze Museum has the best stuff, especially one lady talk me through Frunze's birth-house was really interested about her job.
Well museum is old, that's true, don't even try to compare it with the State Museum but truth be told, State Museum doesn't have that sincerity. Only thing I would complain is English information being really really limited."

"This museum, commemorating Mikhail Frunze, opened for the first time in December 1925, on the same site of the house where he was born, house that was actually built by his own father. Frunze was a Soviet revolutionary, politician and army officer, very highly respected back then. In 1926, the capital city of Bishkek was actually renamed Frunze in his honour. Numerous streets and parks were named after him and also the most prestigious military academy in Moscow. His life and death actually gave him a mythical aura, so you should find out more about him"

"This is the most depressing museum that I've ever seen. Most of the lighting doesn't work; everything is quite old and run-down. Even the bathroom has no paper in it! About half of the displays have brief English descriptions. It is necessary to read the Wikipedia page to understand the importance of this figure in Soviet history. This small museum does him no justice, and is not worth the 150 som admission price for foreigners!"
