It's a highly recommended experience for those seeking an alpine retreat.
"I had the pleasure of staying in Mikurigaike Onsen (2 bed, western style) for 4d3n in July 2025. The location of the onsen was great, walking distance to Murodo Terminal and there are signs along the way to guide you there. Once you arrived at the onsen, you will be greeted by Mikuri Cafe and the lovely staff at the counter. The room may be basic as we only had the beds, but the service and food made up for it.
The half-board option with Mikurigaike onsen was great as we do not have to worry about food. And the set dinner surprised us for its variety, and it was sumptuous! The staff in onsen were thoughtful enough to provide us different options every evening, so we do not repeat the food. I noticed that we were eating different dishes from the rest of the tables (which we had already had them on our 1st night)
The onsen serves as a good base for hiking and respite for multi-day exploration. We enjoyed our stay as we hiked Mt Oyama and we aim to be back to explore Murodo and the other mountains again! Highly recommended to fellow hikers.
Thank you for the hospitality, staff from Mikuri Onsen!"

"Worth the stay! Dormitory-style but comfortable. The staff are nice, and the food is decent. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to use the onsen due to my period.
P.S. The hallway kind of gave me The Shining vibes haha"

"Review is for food here. I ate the black ramen 1000 yen and my husband had curry rice 1000 yen. Both are nice. There is free roasted green tea. Service is good"
