"We start our climb up the mountain trail that extends from Prefectural Route 240 (Yoake Road).
Along the way, there are signs explaining the species endemic to Ogasawara. It's fun to read them carefully and observe them.
It takes about 15 minutes to reach the summit, where you can get a panoramic view of Chichijima. There are remains of what appears to be an artillery battery, and it seems to have been an important strategic base. It's also recommended as a tour of the area's military history."

"The walking path leading up to here is filled with species endemic to Ogasawara, making it look like a tropical version of Princess Mononoke, but what's great is that there are signs posted at each stop so you can identify each endemic species.
This allowed me to find out about the endemic species without a guide and explore at my own pace, really improving the quality of the trip.
The observation deck is also great, with remains of the artillery battery and views of the dry scrub forest.
If you don't want your trip to Ogasawara to end with just ``the ocean was beautiful,'' then this is highly recommended.
It was a valuable experience and I highly recommend
it!"

"It's a bit of a climb from the entrance, but the view is amazing. As the guide map shows, there are two observation decks at different locations, but going around both takes time and a lot of energy, so if you're short on time, it's probably fine to just go to the summit (the one with the observation deck). The view is better from the summit."
