What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Taura Plum Grove for its stunning natural beauty, especially during plum blossom season, and its fantastic panoramic views of Tokyo Bay. The unique ninja playground is a hit with families, and the park offers a peaceful escape with amenities like restrooms and vending machines. Some find parking challenging and note that the grove can get crowded during peak bloom.
"A short hike up to the top of this small mountain. You end up in an open field with a great view of Tokyo Bay where you can see Yokosuka and Tokyo on a nice day.
We went in December so not a lot of people but when it is spring you can tell it will be crowded as a lot of the trees in the hills are cherry blossoms (hence the name).
The walk from the base of the mountain to the top can take about 20-30 mins depending on which route you take. We didn't know the best way at first so we ended up taking the longer way up and then they had maps that showed a shorter way.
There is an observation desk and bunch of tables and seats all around the top and the best part for the kids are the Athletic field where they set up a playground in a line like an obstacle course and have a zip line.
Only problem is there really is no close parking space to park at the base of the mountain. You'll be walking through the neighborhood and there is couple paid spaces. One is with machine and one is you have to call and pay the owner I think. Closer to the train station there are more but unfortunately driving option is quite limited.
Overall, definitely worth checking out and hike the mountain even when there are no cherry blossoms out. Definitely planning to check out when the cherry blossoms are out."
