What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Lake Toya's upscale hotels for their exceptional service, spacious rooms, and stunning lake views, especially during the nightly fireworks. The onsen facilities, particularly rooftop outdoor baths, and the high-quality, diverse buffet dining are frequently highlighted as major draws. While the price point is considered high by some, most guests feel the experience is well worth the splurge for a luxurious and relaxing stay.
"A Relaxing Stay by Lake Toya
Booked 2 rooms at The Lake View Toya Nonokaze Resort for 1 night. Honestly, the service here was amazing - staff were already waiting at the foyer and helped carry our luggage to the check-in lounge, where they served light snacks and drinks. Check-in was super smooth too. They even do free valet!
The room was huge! It had 2 TVs and a cozy living area that’s great for family hangouts. The buffet had a good variety of dishes — food was tasty but not perfect since dinner was a bit cold (maybe because we went around 7pm). Breakfast was really good though!
There were fireworks outside the room at 8:45pm, which was a nice touch, and the view was absolutely beautiful on a clear day. The price was a bit steep, but if you’re okay with spending a little more, I’d totally recommend staying here - great service, comfy rooms, and stunning views!"

"My husband wants to extend our stay , and he usually doesn’t like to splurge on expensive hotels. That should tell you everything! This hotel is worth the price. All the small details are looked after. The rooms have a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. The beds have 3 pillows. There are two choices for the sakuta outfits . The rooftop no edge Onsen is the perfect temperature to soak and enjoy the view. The buffet is top notch for variety and quality. We booked the club room that comes with free drinks at happy hour, it is just so lovely to relax there before heading to dinner. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. We would definitely come back. Best hotel we’ve stayed at probably in the world."

"No words can describe how perfect this stay was — truly 100% perfect!
The room was spacious, spotless, and impressively equipped. This was the only hotel during my trip that provided a Smart TV with Netflix — most city hotels only had local channels, which I couldn’t understand.
The onsen was excellent, and the staff were all incredibly kind, polite, and attentive — truly great service.
The location couldn’t be better — right by the lake, with easy access to the sightseeing cruise and a perfect view of the fireworks at night.
The dinner and breakfast buffets were 100/10 — so many dishes to choose from, and they even served freshly squeezed apple juice made directly from apples.
Absolutely worth every penny. Highly recommended!"
