The diverse modes of transport and the pristine natural beauty are major highlights. However, some find the extensive walking and physical demands challenging, and weather can be unpredictable.
"Breathtaking scenery! beautiful mountains. I went there summer 2025, there are some snow on the top of the mountain and u can touch/step on it along the pathway. The local preserves like 80% of the field and prohibits access for visitors to step on the grass. Which is great! clean and beautiful with flowers amongst the meadow. There is stepping stone pathways around the field to visit the lake, another restaurant, and other sightseeing spot."

"Mount Tateyama is something to behold. It took 4 different variations of travel in order to climb from the bottom to the very top! Each stop providing something fun to look at and sights to see. It was breathtaking to see the expansive forests, fields, mountains, and rivers.
If you love nature, this is one of the largest minimally touches areas in Japan to visit. Besides some roads, an onsen, and transit stops, there is nothing but nature for Miles around.
I highly recommend a visit with an astrix. That being the amount of steps I had to take and the amount of walking, Besides the modes of transit going up, everything else requires walking and climbing steps. This made travel particular difficult especially for those unfit. You have to be prepared to get your heart racing to make it up the mountain."

"24/08/14 it was a cloudy day, mountains were covered in clouds , the temperature was between 10-12 degrees, if you got sports shoes with good grips you can climb this 3015m high mountain; but hiking shoes are recommended. We could still able to see some spots still covered in snow thats rare to see in this hot summer."
