Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the World Bags and Luggage Museum for its extensive, free exhibits and friendly staff, noting the surprising depth of information and interactive elements. While some find the topic of bags and luggage inherently less exciting, most agree it's a well-presented and worthwhile stop, especially for its accessibility with English translations and its convenient location near Senso-ji.

"I'm giving this 5 stars with a minor caveat - it's as good as a museum can be when it is about a rather dry topic. I don't find bags and luggage to be overly enthralling - I'm not sure many people do.

That said, this quiet little museum just down the street from Senso-ji is a very well presented affair, with a lot of information (including full English translation for much of it) and some interactive elements (you can pull a suitcase on a tiled path, for example).

The staff member we dealt with was very friendly and helpful and there are frequent toilets throughout. There's also a rest area that has a vending machine and a decent view of the Sky Tree.

All in all, well worth 30 minutes of your time if you're in the area and have time to kill."

"This is an extensive free Museum. I dragged my boyfriend here but we were both surprised at how extensive the collection was. On another floor there was a museum for a luggage company founder and his designs were really interesting. The timeline of the history of Japan was among the best we saw the whole trip. Very comprehensive"

Allison Lau

"A nice little museum about bags and luggage history, they have English and Chinese guide pamphlets, so it is very friendly for someone who doesn’t speak Japanese can also enjoy the exhibition. The museum has stickers instead of the stamp, when you get a pamphlet and you can get it."
