"Mitsuke Island - A Once Grand Rock in Disrepair
Visiting Mitsuke Island in Suzu, Ishikawa, was a bittersweet experience. Unfortunately, since the earthquake on January 1, 2024, the island appears to be crumbling and in total disrepair. The stone path that once led to the island has been lost to the sea, the iconic red torii gate is missing, and the rock itself has crumbled significantly. It's devastating to see this once beautiful place reduced to its current state.
Despite the damage, there's still a sense of the island's former grandeur, and I sincerely hope that Mitsuke Island can make a comeback one day. This once vibrant and stunning landmark deserves to be restored. 😢"
