"Such a great store!! This is the place to find extremely high quality and wonderful souvenirs. There’s a huge array of authentic Japanese products such as soaps, knives, clothing, small gifts, sunglasses and more. The staff was extremely friendly, especially Hayato! I highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Japan"

"Super unhelpful staff. This was the 3rd Beams I’ve gone into today looking for a backpack as a gift. I spoke in Japanese and asked staff if they had recommendations for non-American brand backpacks. Not only did they keep directing me to different floors and stores (between 2nd and 3rd floor), they not once brought me to any of the backpacks existing on either the second or third floor.
Further more, they would say things like “this is the only backpack we have” when I could clearly see another design behind them. I know as well they understood me perfect and we spoke clearly to each other. They didn’t offer to help me get a backpack down to see from a height. Why treat a customer who is so interested in making a purchase with such disdain?
When a white person would approach they would smile and offer to help them, while I was largely ignored even when I reached out specifically for help. If this wasn’t a lesson to not speak Japanese and flaunt tourist energy…
I’m highly disappointed as this is the worst quality store service I’ve ever received. I recommend others to go to different Beams instead, because I know this is not reflective of their usually helpful nature."
