Reviews Summary
Shibuya Sky is widely praised for its breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of Tokyo, especially during sunset and at night. Visitors love the unique perspective of the Shibuya Crossing and the overall modern, open-air experience. However, securing tickets for popular times can be challenging, and some find the experience a bit overrated or crowded.
"Came here with group of friends to enjoy Tokyo from above and it didn't disappoint.
We got the ticket in advance and got the time slot as we wanted it. We came like 15 minutes before the designated time and we went upstairs with the lift after showing our ticket. The lift ride up is interesting, with video being shown during the trip.
The view from above is stunning. The Shibuya area and beyond can definitely be enjoyed from this vantage point. Sky crappers, highways, big parks and garden, clear blue sky.. you name it.
There is a bar as well at the top, selling drinks and snacks for you to enjoy. It's a bit pricey but the place is special.
It's accessible, as the lift is provided and there are ramps in many sections, including the toilets"

"This place is packed but worth it as visitors can basically view the entire city of Tokyo. I knew that Tokyo is the largest city on earth but being able to see it for myself was truly mesmerizing. It was cool and windy at the top despite it being a fairly warm afternoon. The lift even has a cool animation while going up and down but I didn't take a video of that :( Very much recommended to those who want a cool photo of the city as their background for selfies or social media posts."

"So difficult to book tickets for this but finally managed to get tickets for sunset.
The experience was great but wrap up fairly warm because it can get cold, very picturesque up on the helipad, the views are amazing especially during sunset and at night.
Its nice with children too as it's a soft surface at the top and suitable for children to run around, we all loved it and I would go there again on my next visit."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
While there aren't specific play areas, the sheer scale of the city from above is often captivating enough for younger visitors. The direct connection to Shibuya Station also makes it convenient for families traveling with strollers or managing multiple children. Remember to check the weather forecast, as a cloudy day might diminish the visual appeal for kids.
💰 Budget Travelers
If Shibuya Sky is a must-do, try to book tickets for off-peak hours or weekdays, which might be slightly cheaper or less crowded. Alternatively, explore other paid observation decks like Tokyo Tower or Tokyo Skytree, which offer different perspectives and may have varying price points. Always compare prices across different booking platforms to find the best deal.
📸 Photography Enthusiasts
For night photography, be prepared for the dazzling city lights. While tripods are generally not allowed on the open-air deck, you can still achieve great results with a steady hand and appropriate camera settings. Consider visiting during twilight to capture the transition from day to night, showcasing both the city's daytime energy and its nighttime glow. Remember to be considerate of other visitors when setting up for shots, as popular spots can get crowded.
