"A poem by Yosano Akiko is engraved on the stone steps of Ikaho. Many literary figures, including her, visited Ikaho. Perhaps Ikaho's hot springs and nature were their driving force.
Tokutomi Roka was one of those who visited the area many times. His masterpiece, "Hototogisu," written in the Meiji era, begins with a scene from an inn in Ikaho. A detached building from his usual lodging, Chiaki Jinsentei, has been relocated to the Roka Memorial Literature Museum. Despite falling ill, Roka continued to visit his beloved Ikaho. It was in this room that he passed away at the age of 58."

"I visited the library with the intention of purchasing the book "Ikaho Souvenir."
The materials providing an overview of Rokuka's life were very easy to read and well preserved. The relocated Rokuka's End Room is a must-see, as it was also in excellent condition.
The adjacent Ukiyo-e exhibition was also great. Were the peephole and smart ball ideas the curator's idea? They were very tasteful and entertaining. I was surprised at how luxurious the prizes were for answering all the questions correctly in the exhibition quiz. The staff were also very polite and pleasant to deal with."
