today we're going to Gōtoku-ji Temple in Setagaya City also known as the Lucky Cat Temple! this temple is known for the thousands of lucky cats here, but it's quickly become one of my favorite places in Tokyō. while it is still a tourist destination, it's not nearly as popular as other spots in Tokyō so it's more peaceful and "off the beaten path." if you're wanting blessings or good fortune for y...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Roka Koshun-en Park's diverse attractions, from its serene bamboo grove and beautiful gardens to its popular dog runs. It's praised for being a peaceful, less crowded escape within Tokyo, offering seasonal floral beauty and a glimpse into local life with its morning calisthenics. While dining options are limited within the park, the surrounding neighborhood offers plenty of choices.

"This park has something for everyone! Radio taiso at 6:30 am, two dog runs, a traditional Japanese house you can tour, a bamboo grove, a shrine, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, numerous varieties of hydrangeas, gardenia, sunflowers, lavender, amazing fall foliage, playgrounds…the list could go on and on! I love running here no matter the weather and season. If it’s either raining or super hot and sunny you are protected by the beautiful tall trees with their lovely leaves and branches. The Ginko trees make a gorgeous yellow carpet with their leaves in December. Highly recommend this park!"

"Went here with a mom friend as she lives nearby and it came to my suprise the sakura was almost full bloom! It also has beautiful tulips and other type of flowers. Grateful that day was sunny and warm. My son loves the dog-watching at its dog run area. Eventhough it is nestled in the middle of residential area, I saw many tourists also visited this park."

Edwina Tjahja

"Great park with lots of different attractions. The main of which is actually the dog park (dog run) that’s pretty big and if you have a dog it will most probably have fun. There is also a nice cherry blossoms area and a magical bamboo forest. The second part is a compound dedicated to Japanese philosopher Kenjirō Tokutomi whose pseudonym was Roka and the garden is named in his honor. There is a small museum retelling his life, travels, writings and more. Tokutomi is also buried here next to his wife."
