It was definitely weird timing to be going to Tokyo considering everything that has been happening, but nonetheless it was a great trip and I’m so happy I finished 2023 in Tokyo. Prior to 2023, I had never been to Asia before, but after flying to HND with Becca before starting my new job, I quickly fell in love with the city. I hope this video is somewhat interesting for y’all. When I was young, ...

Anamori Inari Shrine (穴守稲荷神社) ✧*。 This was my personal highlight of the last video tour. There are some nice torii ways like at the Nezu Shrine or Keihin Fushimi Inari Shrine (in Shin-Maruko, Kanagawa), but this shrine was absolutely stunning. You can also enter a cave and climb stairs to two higher located shrines. ⛩️✨ #japan #tokyo #lifeinjapan #goshuin

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Anamori Inari Shrine for its peaceful atmosphere and the iconic 'Peace Torii,' a relocated shrine gate offering a serene spot for reflection. Its convenient location near Haneda Airport makes it a popular stop for travelers. While some note the area can be desolate and has undergone changes, the shrine remains a beloved landmark for locals and visitors alike, especially cyclists and runners.

"Large Torii. The area is quite desolate.
Ppl fishing around the bay. Kids on bike having fun.
It is a peaceful spot. No trees oran6 amenities."

alison “GOVEGAN”

"Cycled here tens of times, coming down the Tama river. Ringing the bell it’s the perfect end for the ride before going back.
It used to be nicer though: recently they removed the grass surrounding it, which makes it a little less magical."

Stefano Demichelis

"This is the former entrance torii to old Anamori Shrine, which was razed to allow construction of Haneda Airport. At the time, the large torii was constructed and placed very firmly in the ground so it was left as-is and surrounded by the old airport terminal parking lot until airport expansion work required it to be removed. Due to the passion of the local residents, it was moved to its current location on the bank of the Tama River at Benten Bridge in 1999. This is not the site of the original shrine, which is now under Runway B. The torii is beloved by locals and visitors and now is a focal point for cyclists, runners, hikers, walkers and locals to relax along the river bank. The area is managed and maintained by a local civic group of volunteers who kindly provide outdoor tables and chairs for public use. The torii now serves a new purpose, at the "Peace Torii." Visitors can ring the bells and pray for peace. The rebuilt Anamori shine is located a short 10 minute walk along highway 311.

I love this torii and the location. On weekends it becomes busy with may cyclists and runners taking a break along the river. I hope this torii stays healthy and vibrant forever."
