Lots of retail and eating options in the passages and of course above ground. Packed with local people and tourists alike. Better avoided if possible at peak times."

"We took the Kyo-train Garaku line from Umeda to Arashiyama. This train is so beautiful decorated like the old japanese style. The fare of Garaku train is the same as per the usual commuter train fare. It is only available on the weekend and runs every 2hr interval at 932,1132,1332,1532 to Kyoto. Definitely worth the wait to take it. But be at least 30mins earlier to check the platform and queue earlier to get a seat."
