Reviews Summary

Visitors generally find the Osaka Immigration Office to be a functional, albeit busy, place for visa and immigration services. Staff are often praised for their helpfulness and bilingual capabilities, making the process smoother for many. However, be prepared for significant wait times, especially if you don't arrive very early.

"I came here for a 1 month visa extension because we loved Japan so much we didn’t want to leave. Easy access from the subway for it’s just a 5 minute walk. Everything goes down on the second floor. The information attendants were very helpful and bilingual. The wait wasn’t horrible. It’s much worst in Canada. Any government related, be prepared to be there for 1 whole day. It was sort of eye opening to see the different types nationalities of wishing to apply for permanent residency. We ended up getting our 1 month extension and the person handling our case was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Be prepared to have some cash on hand to pay for photocopies. Small playground with just mats in the first floor."

"I visited there for submitting my wife's COE application.
After seeing reviews, I decided to go as early as possible and made there around 7.30am on a Thursday morning.
There was already a person waiting before the door.
As soon as I got there people started to come....
And we got lined up around 8am and I could not even see the end of line..

Main door is opened at 8.30am.
Then we all ran to the up floor.

Note: Please try to go there before 8am.

For submitting applications please line up at Red counter No 1.
There is store at the premises same floor like a conbini.

I was bracing my self for facing that infamous Chinese lady everybody was talking about but I could not find that day.
I hope she got fired. Thanks god.

Counters opened at 9am then they gave us numbers. I went to my counter and gave all documents.
Then I was told I need 490 Yen worth stamps. I had only attached 240 Yen worth. I quickly bought them from the store and handed over.
Around 9.10 my work was finished and I left the place.

I think I only encountered Japanese staff so all went smoothly and friendly.
Also the security staff at the main door was also very kind and helpful."

"I visited the Osaka Immigration Office at 9:20 AM to complete the extension process for my Business Manager Visa, which had already been approved. The process was straightforward and efficient.

i needed to print some document so i was late, was aiming for 9am when its opened its door, was stucked at nearby 7 Eleven because my phone problem

turns out theres daily yamazaki in the immigration that also have copier.

After entering the office, I went to the 案内 (Information) counter, located on the left side. The staff directed me to Counter A (Reception), where I showed the approval email stating that I needed to collect my new residence card at this office. The staff collected my passport, my stamped 手数料納付書 (Fee Payment Form with revenue stamps), and my residence card. I was then issued a waiting number and instructed to sit near Counter 2 (Permission Counter), as that was the counter processing my number.

The office layout is organized, with different counters serving specific functions. Counter 1 is for applications, Counter 3 handles residence cards, re-entry permits, and notifications by organizations, while Counters 4 and 5 seemed unused during my visit.

I waited for about 30 minutes, and by 9:50 AM, I received my new residence card. The staff were professional and helpful throughout the process, and everything was completed without any issues. Overall, I was impressed by the smooth workflow and the efficiency of the immigration office.

if you need to go out and in of japan frequently u can register for autogate at 3rd floor, but its not for all nationality and u need valid reason to use it. as malaysian and business man i am eligible to use it"
