What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Hanshin Department Store Umeda, particularly its extensive and delicious B1 food hall, which offers a wide array of fresh sushi, prepared meals, and delightful sweets at reasonable prices. The French bakery PAUL and seasonal food events are also highly praised. Some shoppers find the meat section's presentation less appealing compared to other department stores.
"This is my very special department store that I always visit when in Osaka. On the B1, can buy various food items, which are enough for my simple dinner or breakfast. I especially like the mackerel rolls, and there are also many different kinds of tuna sushi, which are excellent.
On this trip, I was happy to buy "Dassai 23" at a very reasonable price. Tax refunds were processed quickly on the second floor, and the staff were also "kawaii" (cute)."

"What makes the entire first floor food area of Hanshin Department Store worthwhile is a French bakery stall called PAUL. Their croissants are the best in all of Osaka Station area. What’s also good is their croissant mixte sandwich. I am grateful to be able to enjoy authentic French croissants here in Osaka without having to endure a pickpocket ordeal in Paris. Thank you, ❤️ Japan ❤️from a visiting American.
The fruit area of Hanshin has very good selection as well. There are grapes for all budget levels. The grapes from Nagano are the best. On the other hand, the extensive use of blue light in the meat section to make meat look more red than it actually is does not make selling meat here feel very sincere. I would rather go to Hankyu Department Store or somewhere else for meat because of this."

"You will be spoilt for choices for the 'limitless' and mouthwatering food items. And if that's not enough, a short walk, you will find another 2 large department stores with similar offerings! ✌🏻"
