What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Backstage Osaka is a highly social hostel with a lively bar that's great for meeting people and experiencing local nightlife. While many praise the friendly staff and central location, some guests note that amenities are basic, with concerns about air conditioning and cleanliness. It's best suited for budget travelers prioritizing social interaction over luxury.
"I stayed here for a few nights and easily was one of my best stays in Japan. The staff were beyond friendly, made it super easy to settle in. I loved speaking with them at the bar and were great company. Nice central location close enough to the train station. The stay was comfortable and offered great privacy - if going to Osaka I'd highly recommend staying here!"

"First things first, it is a one star hostel and it is cheap of consequence, I don't expect to be in a three star hotel and it is fine with me, one toilet and shower for many people I can live with that. Notwithstanding this I did not stayed in the hostel as I left as soon as I saw the conditions of it all.
AC is not working properly for the number of people in the rooms and in September with 30 degrees outside is a challenge. Also AC is only in the dorm room, means that is not present in the bathroom, in showers or in the stairs to reach the dorm room.
The other weak point for me is the not comfortable bed and the cleanness of the bed.
If I were to visit this hostel in a cooler weather maybe could have been bearable (maybe the only concearn would have been the bed conditions).
Consider that you don't have space to lock your items if you want your belongings to be safe.
The position is good and people seems to be chill. My experience was bad for my standards but maybe not for yours."

"Its not a 4 star hostel. No elevator, long long stairs where you have to carry your lagguage. No kitchen. It doesnt even have the typicall japanese toilets just average. Location you have the noise of the highway cars. Location at least it is nearby a subway station."
