I took a bus from JR Omihachiman Station and got off at the bus stop Osugicho Hachimanyama Ropeway Exit, where I saw the beautiful building of "Hakuunkan" and decided to go and check it out.
There was a tourist information sign outside the building, so it was easy to find even for first-time visitors.
It was free to enter and I could look around freely.
There were tourist brochures for Omihachiman and Azuchi, a shop selling Omihachiman's specialty products, toilets, and drink vending machines.
It was also a free rest area to stop by during sightseeing in the hot summer.
One staff member was giving tourist information.
The second floor is a gallery space, but there was nothing going on that day.
I climbed the stairs to the second floor and saw stained glass. The interior had a simple feel and felt familiar."
