What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ikeda Zoo offers a chance to see various animals and engage in feeding activities, making it potentially entertaining for families. However, a significant number of reviews express deep concern over small, outdated enclosures and the welfare of the animals, leading to a mixed visitor experience.
"Entertaining for kids. There's a flower festival in April.
Nicely kept but..
Small zoo with small cages, which should be a concern.
Literally felt pity for the tiger, such a small cage and the sound of the train. Gosh."
Fatima Bukhari
"My daughter loves capybaras, so, we decided to stop by, since we were near by. And we were very disappointed by the zoo. The zoo is very old, cages are very small and dirty. Poor white tiger is sitting under the little roller coaster and the mechanism of it is very loud and noisy, I could not stand there for even 2 minutes and the tiger is sitting there all the time. I think the zoo is surviving due to the lack of money, they try to attract people by different events like celebration the birthday of capybara. But they have too many problems and need renovations."
Alena Belozertseva
"My husband and I visited on Sunday 22/06 and I almost left in tears as to the neglect that I witnessed of some of these animals. The temperatures are very hot at the moment with pretty much only hot concrete enclosures and usually so small the animal can barely move or it’s just pacing in distress. I wish I didn’t pay money towards this experience"
