"The views reminded me those of the beginning of Princesse Mononoke.
This place looks like it has been designed in the 1960’
The views of the surrounding is so peaceful, we were here in October, but the summer views with lush must be even better.
The top deck is revolving so smoothly, it was so pristine clean on the floor you could eat on it. Same for the windows.

The gift shop is nice, I purchased a key chain and amazing healthy local snack ( they are unhealthy ones as well) the little restaurant attached to it is so great. Very affordable, and it has amazing food in it. What I loved is the fast that you have a real cook and real waiters.
The food yet simple was very flavouful."

"To be honest I don't think it's worth going up just for the revolving platform since you can basically see what's around without going up and all the glare when taking pictures. Nonetheless they had great view up there! They also have a small exhibit around the staircase.

The parking is a short walk from the observatory."

Capturing the Scenery: Photography Tips

The panoramic views from Mount Kampu are a photographer's dream, offering sweeping vistas of the Akita and Oga peninsulas. The rotating deck provides dynamic perspectives, allowing you to capture the landscape from various angles as you slowly turn. The surrounding natural beauty, especially during summer's lush greenery or autumn's vibrant colors, makes for stunning shots.

However, photographers should be aware of potential challenges. Window glare can be a significant issue, particularly during brighter parts of the day. Visiting during the 'golden hours' of sunrise or sunset, or on a slightly overcast day, might yield better results. Using a polarizing filter can also help mitigate reflections and enhance the colors of the landscape.
