The ingenious safety system provides confidence, though some note the need for good stamina and adherence to booking times. "The adventure courses are really fun and challenging. If you want to finish all the 8 courses, you must arrive on time. It spent us 3 hours for 6 courses in the lower area. You don't have to afraid of the heights as you won't fall off from the rope and platforms. But you should have a good stamina for the courses.
DARK pants/trousers are recommended!
Some staff can speak in English in case you are not speaking in Japanese."

We had a lot of questions before we went, so hopefully this review will answer some of yours.
Reservations are taken online. They take people in blocks of 3 hours each, 4 blocks per day, so select the best day and time for you. It's all in Japanese so if you're a non-Japanese speaker you'll want to use a PC to make it easier to translate the forms. They're basically asking for your name and other normal info. In the comment area, write all the names of your party and their height in cm next to each name.
Height restrictions for the Nozaru (adult) course: 130 cm to 185 cm
Weight restrictions for the Nozaru (adult) course: 25 kg to 110 kg
We have a family of 4. Our youngest is 120 cm, and the rest of our group are above 130 cm. People over 110 cm and under 130 cm must use the "kozaru" course ("child-monkey"), and must have an adult accompany them. Adults are not allowed on the course, and must watch from below. If you have two adults who want to climb but one has to watch the kid, you have the option to pay for both adults for the Nozaru course, but switch any time you choose. That's what we did.
After you sign in at reception and fill out the release form, they'll have an expert help you get your gear on. There is a harness system and a separate clip system. They attach the clip system using a wrench, so it won't come undone accidentally. Next is the helmet fitting, and finally you'll select a pair of gloves. Everything is washed after each use. Which is a good thing, because we got sweaty during our run!
Basic don'ts: don't touch the delicate roller area where your clip attaches to the wires. Don't ever use the clip's wire to move along because you can mangle your fingers if you get them caught in the clips. Don't swing your clips around because they're heavy and can really hurt. Don't let your clips drag on the ground and get dirty. One person on an element at a time, but two are allowed at the nodes between elements (the platforms).
Is it safe? The clips are pretty darned ingenious. It was the first time I've used anything like that. There are different systems for the Kozaru and the Nozaru course. The Kozaru course slips on to the end of the wire using a "hammer clip." The clips for the Nozaru course are linked in such a way that only one can be unlocked at a time. This means that you always have at least one point of connection to the course, but usually two and sometimes 3.
For Nozaru there are 7 courses you can try. They recommend starting with courses 2, 3, or 6, but it's really up to you. There is enough time to try them all if you're fast, and in any order you like. I personally found 6 to be the easiest. For Kozaru there are 5 courses with a wide range of difficulty.
The courses start with a brief climb for the Nozaru. It's tricky, because you have to manipulate the harness and the rope that you're clipped to. It's best to have a partner help you pull the rope up little by little, but it's possible to do it by yourself. The harness often gets caught on the climbing pegs, so go slowly enough that it doesn't yank you off balance when that happens. Continue through the course, using the wrapped area below your clip for stability when you need it. Remember, don't put your hands on the wire you use for your clip. Find another way. When you get to the zipline at the end, make sure your clip lines aren't twisted. Keep your legs straight and pointed forward for the best landing. Let your legs hang if you want to go slower. Once you're down and if you have more time, choose your next climb and go for it!
Access: we came by bus and luckily it was a good-weather day. Get off at the Osoyamabashi bus stop and follow the Nozaru signs. It's about a 15 minute walk. If you're already in the Nasu Highland Park, there is a small path you can take. It's past the petting zoo, across the bridge, and up to the right. The path is marked with the sign in the first picture. DISCOUNT: bring your Highland Park admission tickets for a great Nozaru discount."

Navigating the Safety System
It's crucial to understand the 'don'ts' to maintain safety. Avoid touching the delicate roller area where your clip attaches to the wires, and never use the wire itself to move along, as this can lead to finger injuries. Do not swing your clips around, as their weight can cause harm. Also, prevent clips from dragging on the ground to keep them clean. Remember, only one person is allowed on an element at a time, though two can be at the platforms between elements.
The Kozaru (child) course uses a 'hammer clip' system, while the Nozaru course's linked clips offer a higher level of security. Familiarize yourself with how to manipulate the harness and ropes, especially during the initial climbs. Going slowly and deliberately is key to avoiding sudden yanks that could throw you off balance.
Course Strategy and Stamina
Completing multiple courses requires good stamina. One family spent 3 hours completing 6 lower-area courses, highlighting the physical demand. The zipline sections at the end of each course are a thrilling finale. Ensure your clips aren't twisted before launching, and keep your legs straight and pointed forward for a smooth landing. Letting your legs hang can help control your speed.
For families with younger children, the Kozaru courses offer a range of difficulties. Remember that adults are not permitted on the Kozaru course but must supervise from below. If a family has two adults who wish to climb but one must watch a child, they can opt to pay for both Nozaru course spots and switch out as needed, allowing both adults to experience the adventure.
Maximizing Your Visit with Discounts
For those traveling from Tokyo, direct bus services to the park are available and often come with their own discounts. This can be a cost-effective and convenient way to reach the destination, especially if you're not planning to rent a car. Planning your travel and booking in advance can help secure these savings.
Consider the 3-hour time blocks for reservations. Arriving on time for your chosen block is crucial to maximize your experience, as completing all courses can take a considerable amount of time. Planning your day around these blocks will ensure you get the most value from your visit.
