What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Nakano Central Park is appreciated for its open green spaces, ideal for picnics and relaxation, and its role as a venue for lively community events like flea markets and festivals. While some find it basic, its accessibility and nearby amenities make it a convenient spot. A notable point of contention for some is the park's management of bike parking, which has led to restricted areas.
"I’m posting this here because I don’t know who else to complain to. This might be dramatic, but I use this park as an example when I try to explain to someone the failure of Japanese bureaucracy. So, some people used to park their bikes in a small space in the park. So what? It did it take up that much space and I could walk around it. At least that space served a purpose. But, the park didn’t want people to park their bikes there. So what did they do? They blocked off a huge area of the park. The area they blocked off is like 8 times the amount of space that the bikes took up. Now, no one can walk through it, it serves no purpose, it’s ugly, and it has a speaker recording that sounds like a dying frog telling people “don’t park your bikes here.” What is the point? It makes me angry just to look at. It’s hard to walk around with my dog, it’s an eyesore, and a waste of a huge amount of space. Whoever decided this was a good idea needs to find a new job. I didn’t even park my bike here, but I miss the fact that people COULD park your bike here. Now, it serves no purpose whatsoever. Can someone PLEASE realize how stupid this is? It’s driving me insane. Sincerely, someone who can’t walk her giant dog around your stupid ugly barriers !!"

"The Park itself is very blunt but there are some benches and lots of shops around, also some of the buildings around offer seating areas including tables where you could do some studying with friends"

"Just a short walk from Nakano train station, this is a large open field with a row of Sakura trees, great for picnics and for kids to run around. There are many seating areas available as well, if you choose not to sit on the floor.
Many nearby amenities including a convenience store and toilets available for your convenience."
