What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kichijoji Theater is praised for its convenient location, affordable prices, and comfortable seating, making it a local favorite for film and performance enthusiasts. However, the lack of a concession stand and occasional issues with sound or seating layout are noted drawbacks.
"Kichijoji Odeon is a modern movie theater building about a one-minute walk from the station, with 3 films playing on different floors. We usually go in the daytime, so it's never crowded. Tuesday is best for a ladies' discount. Seniors get a discount any day. I believe there is also a student discount with an ID. The seats are very comfortable, and if you sit on the left side, there is a door close to the washrooms, should you require, or feel you may. When you pay at the entrance, you pick your seats from a chart that shows you what seats are available. All seats are reserved. Don't buy drinks and snacks in the theater, they're expensive and limited. Buy them nearby and smuggle them in. Previews of coming attractions are screened for the first 10 minutes or so. Foreign films are shown in the original language with Japanese subtitles. I recommend this theater."

"Cash only.
Comfortable seats.
Clean bathrooms.
Seems to be little issues with bringing in ones own food ( discreetly ).
Floor 5 screen is a nice size with decent sound.
Popcorn lovers may be dissatisfied.
But overall I think this theatre is very worth supporting !"

"The theater itself is alright, and I enjoyed the film I saw there. But the lack of a concession stand really threw me off. I'm sure if I'd done more thorough searching I'd have known, but instead I ended up watching a three hour movie with just a coke from a vending machine and nothing to eat. Really affected the experience for me."
