The incredibly kind and helpful staff further elevate the stay, making it a highly recommended destination for relaxation and cultural immersion in the Iya Valley.
"I’ve never stayed anywhere like this before! The hotel is in a beautiful valley, and the views from the outdoor hot springs are gorgeous. Even getting to the outdoor springs is fun, as they have a cable car up! If outdoor springs aren’t your thing, they also have indoor baths.
My dad and I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with shower, which was spacious and so comfortable. For dinner we were served something like 5 courses of delicious local fish and seasonal vegetables, and we pre-paid for additional steak which was incredible. At dinner, someone comes to sing a local folk song or play an instrument; on our second night, it was the owner herself!
All the staff are so friendly and helpful, and I’m so impressed by the service at this hotel. Everything feels so personal, down to the menus provided at dinner with your name printed on them, and how the staff explain each dish as it’s served.
Although it’s far into the mountains, it’s only a 30 minute bus ride to Oboke Station. The hotel has its own bus stop and staff can provide a timetable if you need to check one."

"Took JR train to Oboke Station and public bus from Oboke Station to Hotel Kazurabashi (~20 min ride on windy road with several S turns).
Enjoyed the outdoor onsen. Took cable car to outdoor onsen which had 2 tubs and a pool with water at varying temperatures. There are bath facilities at outdoor onsen as well.
Room was spacious."

"We ate lunch here as part of a tour. The food was exquisite featuring local cuisine, including locally made tofu and soba. Not least was dessert, which was a delightful end to the meal."
