Reviews Summary

Biwa Waterfall is appreciated for its peaceful beauty and convenient location, especially when combined with the nearby vine bridge. While some find it not a destination in itself, its accessibility and serene atmosphere make it a worthwhile quick stop for many visitors exploring the Iya Valley.

"This waterfall is pretty, but not worth a special trip. If you’re in the area to enjoy a ryokan or visit the vine bridge, then come by to see it."

Carly Medosch

"Biwa Waterfall is a beautiful peaceful oasis. We were able to spend thirty minutes alone enjoying the waterfall."

"Visited Monday, May 13, 2024

Impressive waterfall right by the road. It is only a short walk from the end of the vine bridge, and there are food stalls nearby in addition to the large roadside station with parking.

There is a small viewing area for the waterfall, so in peak tourist season, it will be crowded and slippery. The waterfall itself is impressive, with one large fall into a pool that leads into a small drop and a small creek. It is a small but lovely area, and just one of several attractions within walking distance."
