What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Atarasu Ichiba Farmers Market for its incredible selection of fresh, local produce and unique tropical fruits. Many highlight the opportunity to support local farmers and discover authentic Okinawan delicacies like umibudo and so-ki soba. However, some note that popular items sell out very quickly, so arriving early is essential for the best experience.
"Quite an interesting market that offers all sorts of tropical fruits and other seasonal produce from the island. We found the Brazilian cherries "Pitanga" that we never had before. Also, there are other products from different restaurants/shops around like tofu from Magotofu, zenzai, and doughnuts. But it seems that if you don't arrive early enough, the popular stuff will be sold out quickly even though the market opens until 4pm. We arrived around midday to find all zenzai and tofu are gone. The umibudo is cheaper here and ready to eat with a small sauce pack inside."

"Now this is a proper farmers market. Delectable selection of uber fresh vegetables and fruit. If I had known it would be this great, I would of been coming here from day one. The chillies look wonderful. Still retained their colours even though dried. Not at all faded. Prices for vegetables are decent, but most fruit, like melons were not cheap.
Love this place, as great choice of stuffs, and it's supporting the farming community by purchasing here. Bought chillies and the freshest peppers and okra today. Also several bento boxes. The food is so fresh and tasty.
The okinawa sugar quality looked above premium. It was expensive, but I will get it in the near future."
