Reviews Summary
Art Tower Mito is praised for its striking avant-garde architecture and spectacular nighttime illumination, offering a unique visual experience. While the observation deck provides city views and the gallery showcases contemporary art, some visitors feel the 'art' inside the tower is primarily its structure, and daytime views can be less impressive than the nighttime spectacle.
"It's an amazing place to visit at night! The area is surrounded by colorfull light and the tower sparkles. You can't ascend it at night. But that's ok!"
Pius Winteler
"This is a contemporary museum of art. English information is available. When I went, the exhibition being shown was titled something along the lines of a Future World, a world without humans. Check out Art Tower Mito's webpage to see current exhibitions."
Jared D
"Wasn't worth the time and ¥200.
There was barely any "art" inside the tower.
The observation deck had small round windows which were barely as big as a basketball.
Looks like the shape of the tower is supposed to be the "art" but in daylight it just looked a bit rusty.
Looked great in the nighttime pictures which they had in the lobby so do not go there during the day, I guess?
Frankly I'd rather pour hot water and watch my cup noodles cook.
Wouldn't recommend."
