What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Gifu Seiryu Satoyama Park as a family-friendly and pet-friendly destination with beautiful seasonal flowers and a charming recreated historical village. While entry is free, some find the cost of activities and the limited operating hours for attractions to be drawbacks. The park's expansive nature is great for leisurely walks, but can be a long trek for young children to reach certain play areas.
"It’s a family friendly and pet friendly park with lots of parking. The hours for the shops and activities are quite short, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We stayed at the park-adjacent Fairfield Marriot and it’s very nice. The walk can be quite long for young kids as the kids playgrounds are at the top of hill. The tower climbing structure at the entrance is great for kids older than six. Keep in mind that if it rains, all these things are closed, although the park is still open for walking. The soba restaurant was overwhelmed on a sunny day even as the three elderly ladies worked diligently. They use a number system rather than a waitlist so it’s hard to realize how long the wait will be. We waited almost 40 minutes. The go-cart ride isn’t particularly cheap as it’s just one quick loop. We took the pottery session which was great, but not inexpensive as we spent ¥6,000 for two large bowls and a cup. They are glazed and fired later and then sent to you about a month later. I felt okay spending the money to support the elderly artisans that keep up the workshop and culture. It would be healthier to have running water for the foot bath near the onsen. Also I’m surprised there is no stamp stand collect stamps. The small vegetable shop has a surprisingly large variety, but quickly sells out on a busy day. Lastly, no complaints about the pasta, apple pie or match ice cream at the cafe near the entrance. It was still hot in the fifth season at the end of September, so it would be nice if the park adjusted and kept the water play area open longer. It was closed when we went in Sept 22, 2024."
